I made this base and hood combo over the weekend for my Chondro. It has a built in reflector, 2 light sockets and a side switch to switch from day to night (full spectrum to black light). It was the only way I could figure to properly provide heat. The base just makes it look more symetrical.

Very nice!
I have an Exoterra cage like that as well and found it hard to heat and wound up moving my chondro to a different style cage. Does it keep humidity well with the lighting you have?
It looks awesome. |

| I covered half of the screen top with a piece of clear acrylic, and that, combined with the hood keeps the humidity high enough with daily morning mistings. |
