Anyone here built their own incubator?
Just wondering, cause in the spring once the big project kicks off I plan on building one into the outbuilding.
Suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Are you going to use an old refrigerator? I know some people convert them for that purpose, people also have used large coolers as well. Any breeders out there? _________________ Lauren Madar, CageMakers' site administrator |

I used a big rubbermaid container with an aquarium heater and powerhead back when I had corns. I had the heater and powerhead laying around from some fish tanks we used to have. The shoe box containing the eggs sat on a concrete block laid down, and the big tub was filled with water up to about 2" from the top of the block. The powerhead kept the water circulated which helped keep all of the water heated and kept the humidity up. If you go buy everything, get the best heater, but you can get the cheapest powerhead since you are only using it to stir the water. You could probably use Flexwatt under the tub (might be cheaper than a heater) with a dimmer to control heat. _________________
