I've seem a few people ask about this on different forums.
You can usually find it at hardware stores, but if one near you doesn't carry it, visit Rockler Hardware (they have both brick-and-mortar stores and an online shop). They also carry the display-case glass door locks that can be used on sliding glass doors used in tracks (and with prebuilt cages such as Visions), for about $7 each.
They also carry a variety of hinges and other 'cageworthy' hardware and furnituremaking supplies.

All I can ever find on these sites (rockler, grainger, etc.) is track for 1/4" glass. I am looking for track that will work with thinner glass. I know it exists because I see other people using it, but it must be a huge secret because of the 5 or 6 people I have asked no one rembered the name of the place where they got it. They all use the same stuff, its sort of flat black finish and plastic. Does anyone know where I can find this. _________________ Steve Schindler |

Thanks for the link. I have some of that, I forgot about it since I didn't really like it, it still left too big of a gap between the doors and I don't want to go with thicker glass for 10 gallon terrariums. Maybe its just me and the other stuff leaves the same gap, but it just seems to be tighter.
On a related note, can you think of anything that I could use to close that gap between the doors. I've tried self adhesive foam insulation strip but it looks like crap (hard to get on straight) and doesn't allow very smooth operation (it grabs). I thought of the felt stuff because its stiffer and might run on smoother to give a straigther line but if any sand gets between it and the glass it would probably scratch the glass.
I've also thought of plastic caps and I might go with those (similar to the loose leaf binder strips we all loved to use on our reports in school) but again, finding ones that fit and still allow smooth bypass is dificult.
I love the site by the way, This is the kind of stuff that keeps me up nights. If I am not carefull I just might have found a new favorite site. _________________ Steve Schindler |

This game is actually pretty fun when you get the hang of it
Read as follows:
Yellow can go through the green glass door but blue cant
didnt get it?
Ok, heres another....
Trees can go through but twigs cant
So you simply have to figure out the pattern, Its easy
Ill start off.
Grass can go through but flower cant
Have fun. |
