I need to insulate underneath a pull-out rack I recently built for my VE-175 large tubs, so I'm going to buy a roll of Reflectix at Lowes later. Anyone else had success with this stuff?
It's foil insulation that is kind of like foil bubble wrap. Apparently a lot of people use it to insulate cages, but this will be my first attempt to do so. I'll let you know how it goes! |

I have a farm & greenhouse catalog here somewhere that sells it in huge rolls for insulating buildings. Lots of good stuff in there . When I find it I'll post links. _________________ Bryon Adzic

I have Reflectix wrapped around some of my racks and an incubator to help retain the heat. I also have a piece under the bottom cage/rack of each stack on a table or shelf. I've never tested to see exactly how good of a job it really does but I believe it helps retain heat.
I use a piece of blue insulating board under each rack that sits on the floor (basement). I wanted more insulation on the floor so I used the construction board. _________________ DW Flickner |
