Just wondering what most people here use as heating for their cages.
I am leaning more towards flexwatt all the way round, but I do also use a heat panel in one of my cages. Not really sure if I like the heat panel. Seems not to heat all the way to the bottom of the cage. I get about 90 degrees air temp, but the bottom of the cage always seems to be around 82-84.
What I like with the flexwatt is that the snake always seems to feel warmer to me. I think that I get a better gradient with the flexwatt. |

Same here. Found it to be much better than using overhead heating and running less wattage even with the room heater. _________________ Bryon Adzic

| I use both though not in the same cage.. I keep mainly arboreal species so the panels work best for many of my animals.. Big Apple carries a flexable heat pannel that I really like. I have used it mounted to the top and found that mounting it to the side works well for Carpets and other less arboreal critters. Still use a lot of flexwatt it's hard to beat as you can use it most anywhere...Randy |
